The first Manchester & the Mountains Bike Club Potluck was a huge success !!

About 40 people showed up and shared good food and good intentions.

Joe Miles provided the venue and the momentum. He  gave an update on the trail the Club is working on in Dorset and introduced one of the landowners whose property the trail might cross.

Joe Wagner introduced John Sihikian, who outlined an ambitious “Vermont Challenge” which will take place next August and will grow into a major Vermont attraction.

Robin Verner (me) told of the 4 weekly rides that take place in summer  and outlined several projects that the club is working on. One of the goals is have bike routes on the club website.

John Sutton has  graciously created our  website     MMBC

Some of you might remember we gave away the  ”barn find De Rosa”  this summer to Matt Webb who planned to resurrect the bike for his son to ride.

Well, it was finished late in the summer and Matt did an outstanding job !!

Bill Cheney was the original owner that purchased the bike in Europe back in the day and campaigned  it around Dorset. After he stopped riding, it sat in his barn for years collecting bird droppings. One day he brought it in to Battenkill Sports and said  ” here, see if anybody wants it “.  We ran the offer on this web site and on Facebook.  Matt was the  lucky (?) recipient.

Many hours spent sourcing obsolete Campy 8 speed parts and Voila here she is !  Below is the original.
