Here are some of the projects we have sponsored.

Dust Off    More info                     girl dust off
Get your bike out, dust it off and c'mon down to the Dana Thompson Recreation Area,  meet up with other folks and go for a ride. This is not a mass start, but rather small groups of like minded people will ride together. The more ambitious riders wishing to go 20+ miles will leave around 9am, kids ride at 10am led by Amy L Verner LCI. and  the last group to leave at 11am for the shortest route which is Wendy's Way, the new 5 mile bike route authorized by the town last summer. This is not a race, there is no charge or on-road support. It is intended to encourage folks to save the planet, get some exercise and have some fun. Cycling is a fast growing sport/activity. Everybody can do it.
Tech inspection starts at 8 am. We will look your bike over, check the gears and brakes, look for lose parts and make sure your tires are inflated. If your bike is not safe we will recommend you don't ride it.
Wendy's  Way  Our new bike path.
July 2008 the Select board of Manchester officially authorized our first bike route. It's called Wendy's Way. It starts at the town office heads south on Rt 7A, north on Rt 30, east on North Rd. and back on Rt 7A. It is 5 miles and uses public roads. Rt 7A and Rt 30 have a bike lane and North Rd is deemed rural enough to be safe just staying to the right. It will have signage.
Beginner Classes
Fridays at 6pm (starting in May) Amy Verner LCI will conduct classes for beginners. Info

 Support
Community Food Cupboard
Battenkill Sports hosts 4  Deals on Wheels  each summer. Basically a day when people get together to buy and sell used bikes and related equipment. Buyers and sellers make a small cash donation (not food) to support the Food Cupboard . Amy Verner organizes the event, Trey Spencer takes care of promotion and helps match people to equipment,  and Robin Verner is the detail guy. In 2004 we raised over $1400.
