DUST OFF
Saturday June 5 , 2010

dust it off and ride

Get your bike out, dust it off and c'mon down to the Dana Thompson Recreation Area,  meet up with other folks and go for a ride. This is not a mass start, but rather small groups of like minded people will ride together. The more ambitious riders wishing to go 20+ miles will leave around 9am, kids ride at 10am led by Amy L Verner LCI. and  the last group to leave at 11am for the shortest route which is Wendy's Way, the new 5 mile bike route authorized by the town last summer. This is not a race, there is no charge or on-road support. It is intended to encourage folks to save the planet, get some exercise and have some fun. Cycling is a fast growing sport/activity. Everybody can do it.
Tech inspection starts at 8 am. We will look your bike over, check the gears and brakes, look for lose parts and make sure your tires are inflated. If your bike is not safe we will recommend you don't ride it.
Helmets Required.

This event benefits the Community Food Cupboard.

Don't put it off, you can do it, get started riding early this year. Agree to meet a friend once a week. It is an effort, but when that first rush of air hits your forehead, all the stuff on your mind will disappear. Of course by then you'll be breathing hard.
