One to one and a half hours, easy pace.

Thursday Enthusiast Ride

Join us Thursday May 16 6 pm for the Enthusiast Ride. Tonight we will ride north on Rt 7A to Danby and come back. Rt 7 has a wide shoulder all the way.

We will practice pacelineing for those interested.

Ride of Silence

Show your support and join Amy Verner LCI who will lead the ride from the Manchester Rec Area at 6:15 pm Wednesday May 15.
It is a 10 mile ride at no faster than 12 mph. Ridden in silence.

Will not be run if it rains and there is no rain date.

SPRING SPRING, WHERE THE HECK HAVE YOU BEEN…?

Finally the warmer weather is upon us and we can enjoy outdoor

recreation. One of the best ways for young and old to this is on a bicycle. If

you or a loved one are looking for a good used bike or might have one to

sell, then the 2nd 2013 Bike Swap is just what you want. On Sunday, May

12th (also Mother’s Day) at Battenkill Sports in Manchester you can try

your luck in this cycling-themed tag sale which beneﬁts the Community

Food Cupboard

The process is oh so simple. Just bring your sale items to Battenkill Sports

at 9:00 on Sunday morning. Shop staff will be on hand to help you register

your items and set pricing. At 9:30 the public is welcome to browse the

selection on the lawn and see what perfect deal can be found.

No admission fees or commission on sales are charged; successful sellers

and buyers are asked to make a cash donation, all of which goes to

the Community Food Cupboard.

Complimentary refreshments will be available. For more information please

call Battenkill Sports at 362-2734 any day between 9:30 and 5:30.

Monday in the Mountains.

Join us Monday May 6 at 6 pm at The Equinox Preservation for an intermediate mountain bike ride.

Will Hersom, Mountain Biker Extraordinaire, will show us around the park. You will sweat and you will descend and you will be happy the black flies aren’t out yet.

Meet at the parking lot at the top of West Union Street ( behind the Equinox Hotel) at 6 pm. About 2 hours. The weather forecast is good.

* Thursday Road Ride. Enthusiast level ride from Battenkill Sports 6 pm. There will be Time Trials in Arlington open to MMBC members. (has begun)
* Friday Social Ride. An easy paced 1 1/2 hour ride. Beginner class can be scheduled with Amy Verner LCI. Call her 362-2734. (has begun)
* Saturday Morning Club Rides with various MMBC leaders. 9 am at Battenkill Sports.Starts May 25.
* Sunday Morning Clinic. Bicycle tire repair. To be announced.
* Sunday Morning Ride with John Sutton. 9 am at Battenkill Sports.
50 mile +/- Starts May 19.
* Monday Mountain Bikes. Join Robin for an intermediate level ride. 6 pm. Starts May 6. ( Respond if you want to be notified of where to meet.)
* Wednesday Ride and Dine. Join Amy and Robin 6 pm to ride a different 15 to 20 mile route each week to earn your supper. Starts June 12

* Tour of the Dragons. May 4 & 5. Early season racing at its best. Ride it or volunteer.
* Ride of Silence. May 15.Raise awareness of our right to ride on the roads and honor fallen cyclists. Amy will lead the ride from the Manchester Rec Area at 6:15 pm
* Tour De Bondville. July 27. 7^th annual ride and fundraiser.
* Mt Equinox Climb for Lyme. August 3. Race it in under 40 minutes or just ride it in about an hour and a half with Amy and Robin. Join us for this worthy fund raiser.
* The Vermont Challenge. August 14 to 18. Up to 4 days of well-organized touring.
* Cycling with Fern and Joe. Visit Italy Sept 21-28. Ride the Roads of Riccioni.

* MMBC Trail days. Volunteer to build trails. Manchester & the Mountains Bike Club.

What is a Friday Social Ride ?

Join us every Friday at 6 pm to get out and have some fun and meet other riders.

Not competitive, easy paced and non-drop. We will leave from the shop at 6 pm and ride a loop without too many hills (trust me..)
Amy Verner an LCI (League Cycling Instructor) will offer a beginners class and ride.Call Amy at 362-2734 if interested.
We will be back around 7:30.

Helmets required.

Meet the team that is going to make this your best year ever.

Dan Rhodes (on right) is our new year round sales and service manager. He has over 20 years in the bicycle industry, has credentials from The United Bicycle Institute and has owned his own shop. Dan lives in Arlington with his wife Faith and 5 children. Dan is an avid outdoors man and will riding with us and helping to keep your equipment up to date.

Bryan Connery (second on right) is a young cycling enthusiast originally from Salem Mass. Bryan has worked in bike shops from California to Ludlow and is looking forward to checking out our Mountain Bike scene.

Amy and Robin are the owners with Hudson the Granddog (waiting for cookies). TJ (on the left) is a great technician and salesman Trey ( second on left) is a friend of the shop who helps with volunteer events or fills in as needed.

WE ARE READY. Bring in your bikes and let us get you ready to ride. It’s going to be another GREAT year.

Thursday Enthusiast Road Ride

Join us Thursdays 6 pm at Battenkill Bike Shop. The enthusiast ride strives to average 15+ mph but will break up into different level groups as needed.

Early season rides will be around 20 miles and get longer with available daylight. Our longest ride will be 45 miles June 20, near the Solstice .

There will be occasional 10 mile Time Trials in Arlington. (must be MMBC member)

Helmets, headlights & taillights and flat repair kit required.

Extra parking next door at Michael Rodriguez Hairdressing Studio.
